President’s Message: Patricia Hirsch

Last month’s Chapter meeting was a hoot, wasn’t it?! There was so much happening that evening and all of the participants were fully involved in all that was taking place. The kick-off Business and Coaching Excellence Program (BCE) had the room almost full to capacity and participants’ sharing precisely what was important to them and what their challenges were. What I fully appreciated was the willingness for coaches to come together and learn and grow and move beyond what stops them. Good work, Coaches!

For those of you who could not make it to the 5:00 – 6:00 PM BCE, networking was available from 5:30 – 6:00 PM at the Sports Club bar. Please forgive me for not making this known last month however, in the future come get registered, wear your ICF-OC name badges so fellow coaches can recognize you, and meet your colleagues by the bar to network. We will begin the next part of the evening, the Coaching Practicum, promptly at 6:00 PM.

And last month at 6:00 PM, we began the new Coaching Practicum session where the participants broke up into groups of three for the new Triads exercises of Coach-Client-Observer. Once again the participants were fully involved in helping each other and themselves to grow and learn new ways-of-being.

The dinner was delicious and short this time as we had the wonderful little ICF-OC Production Company give us the puzzle skit! Wasn’t that fun?! They had us running all over the room… truly an exercise in “breaking up how you think life works!” The exercise continued to drive home Our Vision:

We are the organization where coaches improve their coaching skills.

We are a vibrant and welcoming culture.

We market coaching and create awareness of the benefits of coaching.

Following was our headliner with Carly Anderson and her presentation kept us thinking and interacting and moving along in our pursuit to both gain and offer great coaching. We were offered another insight into using assessments with our clients. Thank you Carly!

We have more exciting events and opportunities coming up at the ICF-Orange County Chapter. Did you know that we will soon have the opportunity for those who wish to become Sponsors of our Chapter? Look for the information soon via email and we will announce it in our upcoming meeting. Speaking of which, have you heard Vance Caesar speak? He lives in our neighborhood and is truly a treasure for us given he is willing to come and share himself at our meeting.

I look forward to spending the evening with you on April 13th!

Respectfully,,
Patricia Hirsch, MCC, MBA, RN
