Tools to Build your Coaching Business
In our March meeting we had a panel of well-established companies, like Boeing and Washington Mutual, who have committed to using coaching within their organizations. We asked them how they decided to bring coaching in, and we found out that usually a strong leader within the organization champions coaching, due to personal experience or opinion.
Savvy business leaders no longer need to be convinced that coaching is a powerful tool they can use to move to the next level, but getting into an organization and establishing credibility is not easy. Often you have to know the owner or a high level manager and have coached him or her personally.
This month we’ll be focusing on what has to happen to effectively bring in more clients. Michelle Schubnel, with the Coach and Grow Rich program, has been providing coaches with effective practice building tools for years. If you want to increase the number of clients you bring on each month, she provides a clear process that shows exactly what it takes.
Part of our commitment at ICF is to create an environment that enables our participants to grow their businesses faster than they could on their own. There are three key aspects to building a successful coaching business: (1) being an excellent coach, (2) knowing how to sell your services, and (3) having relationships with people who can connect you to the right opportunities.
In our profession, networking is a huge success accelerator. Coaches who get corporate contracts bring in teams of trusted peers in to help with the project. Coaches who aren’t entirely confident with a new opportunity will shy away from it unless they know another coach with a complimentary skill set. Already, many of the coaches who worked together on the coaching week event are extending their relationships to partner on business projects.
Come join us – learn the skills you need to take your business to the next level, and meet the people who can help you get there!
