Coaching Demystified

A profession explodes
“ Life coaching is a catch-all term,” says Patricia
Hirsch, president of the International Coaching Federation
of Orange County, “There are many different types of
coaching, but ‘life coaching’ encompasses them
all.” Coaching as it is known today began approximately
10 years ago at the executive level in corporate America…

Grow Yourself,
Grow You Business
Presented by: Nahid Casazza and Glenn Stevenson
There are three important
factors in becoming a successful coach: (1) your coaching
skills, (2) your business skills, and (3) your personal development.
It's easy to dismiss this third aspect, but when you focus
on personal development, your coaching becomes more powerful,
you attract more clients, and you let go of fears that have
been holding you back in business. The greatest thing about
personal development is that it feels more like play than
work! In the September BCE, learn how personal development
impacts your coaching practice, and walk through exercises
that can transform you, your clients, and your business!

The Importance Of Identifying Motivations
In The World Of Coaching
Presented by: Barbara Sternlight McCarthy, BA, RDMS
Understanding that individuals reach their
personal and professional potential by following their motivations…their
passions – coaches help their clients choose and commit
to goals and plans for growth. Learning to first identify
and then manage clients’ motivations helps coaches to
be even more effective in their work.
This presentation will explore, using the
MAPP™ (Motivational Appraisal of Personal Potential),
and identify motivations - and apply them to coaching.
A Certified Consultant for MAPP™ (Motivational
Appraisal of Personal Potential) since 1996, Barbara McCarthy
has effectively utilized the MAPP assessment process with
hundreds of individuals, providing coaching to validate important
life choices, as well as to choose and/or change careers

How
Getting Organized Impacted My Business
by Nahid Casazza
Here are five things I learned about the
value and process of organizing that were key to achieving
such amazing results:
- Organizing, weeding, and taking
care of open issues are distinctly separate activities.
Try to do them at the same time, and you run into trouble.
If you’ve ever hired a housecleaning service, you
may have noticed how quickly they get the job done. This
is because all they do is clean. They don’t get distracted
picking up clutter, or fixing broken things, or deciding
if something should go to Goodwill…

A
Present For Your Clients
(About Being Present To Present Your Present)
by Philip
H. Henderson
My experience tells me that no one really
wants advice. People seeking advice want someone to confirm
what they already decided to do.
Instead of offering advice, I suggest that
my client make the decision that meets his or her highest
ethical standard; even when such decision might cost them
today. They realize that if they are to live up to their highest
ethical ideas they must sacrifice in the present. The
PRESENT is where all good work emanates. I want my
clients to be present to receive the present that makes life
good for them in the present…
Feel
the urge to give advice? Here’s my suggestion!

GETTING
CLIENTS FROM YOUR WEB SITE
(Search Engine Optimization For The Technically Timid Coach)
September 11,
2006 12:00PM-1:30PM
It may be pretty. It may even
reflect your inner beauty. But (for 99% of coaches) as a business
development tool, your web site simply doesn't work. If you
hate tracking down clients one at a time, and would love to
learn how to attract a steady stream of your ideal clients,
week after week, join us.
In one hour we will cover the
basics, (for non technical folks) of how to optimize your
site so it comes up on Google, Yahoo, MSN, AOL and other search
engines and begins to bring you clients.
Topics include:
- A quick overview of how search engines
work.
- The importance of having a focus for your
marketing, where your ideal clients can find you.
- The critical importance of choosing the
right keyword.
- An overview of basic optimization and
link building (So you can instruct your webmaster on what
to do).
- Writing a home page that engages viewers
and gets prospects to contact you.
By the end of the hour you will
know whether this type of marketing is a fit for you. (I happen
to believe web marketing is hugely undervalued by most coaches.)
